Move over the Big Four, there’s a piece of the Big Three available.
In a surprise bombshell, the Melbourne Storm announced that star halfback Cooper Cronk will quit the Storm at the end of 2017, mid-way through his 2-year contract, and move to Sydney.
This will likely send Sydney clubs into a frenzy, with the rare opportunity to snare an elite halfback at the top of his game.
Potential fits include the Tigers (who have both halves off-contract, a new coach, and money to spend), Canterbury (who have Josh Reynolds off-contract and a need for creativity in the spine) and Parramatta (who currently use utility Clint Gutherson in the halves).
The 33-year-old has played 306 matches for Melbourne, 19 State of Origins for Queensland, and 32 Tests for Australia.
