Melbourne’s halfback will change next season for the first time in over a decade, but their forward pack will remain largely the same.
The Storm have today announced the re-signing of young forwards Christian Welch and Felise Kaufusi to new deals, adding them to a list of re-signed forwards that also includes Dale Finucane, Jesse Bromwich and Kenny Bromwich.
Welch’s deal is for a further two years, while Kaufusi’s is for one year, with a second-year option.
After losing rising star Jordan McLean to the Cowboys earlier in the year, the Storm have moved quickly to tie up the rest of their dominant forward pack.
The last big name (no pun intended) Storm forward remaining unsigned for 2018 is Nelson Asofa-Solomona.
Welch has played 33 games for the Storm since making his debut in 2015, while Kaufusi has played 45.
