Good news, Shaun Johnson – your number 6 hasn’t left you just yet.
According to the NZ Herald, Warriors five-eighth Kieran Foran has yet to agree to terms with the Bulldogs, contrary to various reports. In fact, Foran himself says that he’s yet to have received a formal offer from anyone.
“I don’t have an offer on the table from any club at the moment,” Foran said.
Foran went on to indicate that if possible, he’d be interested in remaining at the Auckland-based club for another season.
“If we can make it work for another year, then both of us (Foran and Warriors Managing Director Jim Doyle) would like to.”
Both the Warriors and Bulldogs are understood to be waiting for Foran to sort through his family situation before tabling formal offers. Foran indicated he’d like his future resolved “over the next week or so”.
Last month, Warriors halfback Shaun Johnson indicated that the signing of Foran would increase his chances of remaining at the Warriors. He’s since already re-signed, so now we might see if Johnson’s feelings are reciprocated.
