They’ve added a prop and a five-eighth already, but the Wests Tigers still have plenty of holes to fill. The next hole they’re looking to plug appears to be at fullback.
According to SMH, the Tigers have made enquiries about off-contract fullbacks Will Hopoate and Alex Johnston.
Bulldogs custodian Hopoate is believed to be on the outer at Belmore, as the Bulldogs look to add more attacking spark to their spine.
Meanwhile at the Rabbitohs, Johnston has long coveted a starting gig as a fullback, but it’s as yet unknown where he’ll fit in South Sydney’s plans when Greg Inglis returns next year.
In our examination of the Tigers’ options for next year, neither Hopoate or Johnston rated especially highly, but at this point, they’re both better than what they’ve got.
