Apparently not satisfied with their recent re-signing of forward James Gavet and recruitment of Titans forward Leivaha Pulu -in addition to their prior signing of Storm second-rower Tohu Harris – the Warriors are reportedly looking to lure a big name Kiwi home to be the jewel in their forward pack’s crown.
That Kiwi forward is Broncos prop Adam Blair. According to a report by Stuff, the Warriors have already met with the prop, with a view to luring him to Auckland in 2018.
Blair’s reported to have a strong relationship with Warriors coach Stephen Kearney, who made Blair a co-captain of the Kiwi Test team in 2015.
The Warriors’ meeting with Blair was supposedly to “explain to him what they’re trying to create at the Warriors”.
After Saturday afternoon’s effort, we wonder if what they told him was “total disillusionment within our fanbase”.
Blair has played 251 first grade matches for the Broncos, Tigers and Storm, as well as 39 Tests for New Zealand.
He’s #27 on The Obstruction Rule’s Free Agent Top 100.
