Once again, Ivan Cleary has got his man.
The Tigers have today announced the signing of New Zealand international Russell Packer on a four year deal, which will see him at Concord until the end of 2021.
Packer has been expected to sign on for weeks, and together with Ben Matulino, will go a long way towards offsetting the loss of captain Aaron Woods.
Packer has played 142 first grade games for the Dragons and Warriors, and 3 Tests for New Zealand.
He was #22 on The Obstruction Rule’s Free Agent Top 100.
The Tigers still have plenty of work to do, including settling the futures of off-contract players like Jamal Idris, Matt McIlwrick and Kevin Naiqama.
