It appears that the forecast for Sunday afternoon in Newcastle is cloudy with no signs of White Lightning.
According to NBN, popular Knights winger Nathan Ross has been dropped from first grade for the Knights’ clash with the Panthers, as a result of yesterday’s reports of a contract dispute between the player and club.
Brendan Elliott will reportedly take Lightning’s place on the wing.
We warned last night in our Nathan Peats report that when managers air their frustrations publicly that things can quickly turn ugly for both player and club, and those warnings have now turned out to be eerily prescient for Ross.
Regardless, the Knights are hardly in a position to drop one of their best players in order to make a point, and if they wind up on the end of another flogging from the Panthers, things could get a lot worse for Nathan Brown as well.
