In 2008, State of Origin brought Peter Wallace a ruptured testicle; in 2017, a ruptured dream.
Scans have today revealed the extent of the Panthers hooker’s groin injury, and the news isn’t good.
Wallace has suffered a grade 2 adductor tear, which will see him miss the next 4-6 weeks of football, and rule him out of an expected return to the Origin arena, almost 8 years since his last game.
Wallace is expected to be replaced in the Blues squad by Titans hooker Nathan Peats.
In other Panthers injury news, out-of-position-back-rower Bryce Cartwright has had a lateral meniscus tear confirmed in his left knee, and will need to visit a surgeon to decide on treatment.
