The Dragons mightn’t have agreed with coach Paul McGregor on whether Josh Dugan is a fullback or a centre (as it turns out, he’s an ‘elite rugby league player’), but one thing they can’t argue with is results.
The Dragons have been outstanding thus far this season, with McGregor guiding them into the Top 4 at the competition’s halfway point, despite having a squad that most pundits tipped to finish towards the bottom. As a result, he’s set to be rewarded with a new deal, according to Fox Sports reporter James Hooper.
“Negotiations are advanced and I think we’ll see Paul McGregor ink a new extension with the Dragons very shortly,” Hooper said.
“That’ll be a two or three-year deal.”
McGregor has coached the Dragons in 77 first grade matches, with a winning percentage of 49.4%.
