WWOS reported a fortnight ago that Roosters utility forward Paul Carter was unlikely to be kept at the club next year. As it turns out, that report should have read “next month”.
The Roosters have today announced that they have released Carter, effective immediately.
The statement doesn’t give any hints as to the reasoning behind the separation, but with this being Carter’s third club in four years, it’s not a good look for the player. We can only hope that he’s leaving to take up another opportunity, but we’re sure we’ll find out soon enough.
Carter has played 40 first grade games for the Roosters, Rabbitohs and Titans.
He’s #83 on The Obstruction Rule’s Free Agent Top 100.
