On the list of “players who might get cut from the Bulldogs in order to accommodate Kieran Foran and Aaron Woods”, you can put a line through second-rower Adam Elliott as an option, with the future star reportedly agreeing to terms with Canterbury on a three-year extension.
According to SMH, Elliott has knocked back offers from the Sharks and Eels, in order to remain at Belmore.
With the recent re-signings of Elliot, Will Hopoate, and Marcelo Montoya; and captain James Graham reportedly assured of his position for next year, we’re running out of options for the Bulldogs to let go in order to get under the salary cap.
Hooker Michael Lichaa is off contract and not expected to be retained, though it’s thought that more players will need to get the tap on the shoulder before 2018 kicks off. Perhaps they’re not that far over the cap, after all.
We’re sure we’ll find out soon enough.
Elliott has played 21 first grade games for the Bulldogs.
