It seems we now know whose spot Dane Gagai will be filling in the Rabbitohs back line next year.
According to TotalRL, long-time Rabbitohs winger Bryson Goodwin will depart the club at the end of the season, after signing with Super League club, Leigh.
Goodwin was just one of a few Rabbitohs outside backs off contract for next year, including Alex Johnston, Dane Nielsen and Aaron Gray, so there may be more movement still to come.
Goodwin had previously been linked to the Tigers, but with their recent additions of Mahe Fonua and Corey Thompson, it’s unlikely he’d have still been on their radar, leaving the Super League as his best option to continue his first grade career.
Goodwin has played 166 first grade games for the Rabbitohs, Bulldogs and Sharks, and 9 Tests for New Zealand.
He was #68 on The Obstruction Rule’s Free Agent Top 100.
