With the Roosters possessing one of the league’s best backlines already, there was speculation that Ferguson may have been surplus to requirements for next year. However, the initial talks reportedly went well, and the Roosters do indeed want him back, as long as he behaves himself.
Ferguson’s manager Sam Ayoub has been overseas of late, but following his return, a deal could be sorted out quickly.
Ferguson has played 154 first grade games for the Roosters, Raiders and Sharks, 5 Origins for New South Wales, and 7 Tests for Australia.
