Given the source, take this one with a really hefty serving of salt.
According to Triple M, departing Warriors second-rower Ryan Hoffman has been linked with a homecoming to the Storm, with the outlet stating that “it’s believed a return to his former club Melbourne is on the cards”.
Having said that, it comes in the context of an article breaking the news that “it’s understood” Hoffman has been told to look elsewhere for next year. Perhaps “it’s understood” because Warriors coach Stephen Kearney already announced it. In February.
This comes less than a week since Triple M broke the news that the NRL “will announce” that in future, Origin Game 2 will be played on a standalone Sunday – news the governing body had already announced almost two years earlier.
So, we have some doubts over the veracity of their “reports”, but thought we’d share this one with you nonetheless.
Hoffman has made 303 appearances for the Warriors and Storm, played 14 Origins for New South Wales, and 6 Tests for Australia.
He’s #28 on The Obstruction Rule’s Free Agent Top 100.
