Broncos five-eighth Anthony Milford will eventually need to be booked in for surgery on his injured shoulder. At this point, it’s just a question of when.
According to AAP, via The Courier-Mail, Broncos coach Wayne Bennett has confirmed the prognosis for Milford, but indicated that the club will roll the dice on Milford getting through the season.
“Anthony definitely needs surgery,” Bennett said. “He is basically a 50-50 chance of getting through.”
“We have got nothing to lose, so we may as well give it a go, and see how he handles it.”
If there’s a positive for the Broncos, it’s the sparkling recent form of Benji Marshall, who’s shown he can fill in capably for Milford if required.
But hopefully, for the Broncos’ sake, he won’t be.
