It seems the NRL return of Daniel Mortimer is going to be short-lived.
Less than 24 hours after he made his debut in Sharks colours, it’s been reported that Mortimer will depart for the Super League mid-season.
According to Daily Telegraph reporter David Riccio, Mortimer has agreed to terms with Leigh Centurions, and will head to the Super League following the Sharks Round 16 clash with the Sea Eagles.
Mortimer joined the Sharks in 2017, but the early season arrival of James Segeyaro and the emergence of youngster Jayden Brailey had pushed him down the pecking order.
Mortimer has played 128 first grade games for the Sharks, Titans, Roosters and Eels.
He was #90 on The Obstruction Rule’s Free Agent Top 100.
