Tigers: 1, Knights: 0.
After previously reporting that the Tigers planned to gazump the Knights with a big-money play for Roosters utility Connor Watson, the latest news is that it looks like they’ve succeeded.
According to 7 Sport, the Tigers have signed Watson from 2018, with the utility set to fill the fullback position vacated by James Tedesco.
We’re not sure where that leaves Tui Lolohea, who was also reportedly assured of a spot in the Tigers spine; but with Watson at the back, and Josh Reynolds set to play five-eighth, Lolohea may well find himself back on the wing, as he was when he requested a release from the Warriors.
We can only wonder what retribution Nathan Brown has in store for the Tigers, after he responded to the Broncos out-bidding him for Jack Bird by reportedly attempting to poach Tautau Moga and Herman Ese’ese.
Sunday afternoon should be fun.
