The Panthers have been hit with some bad news, announcing today that centre Dean Whare will miss time with a broken jaw.
It’s never good to break your jaw (or any other bone, for that matter), but as far as broken jaws go, Whare’s is on the lower end – a non-displaced fracture that won’t require surgery (by comparison, Sharks hooker Jayden Brailey broke his jaw in two places, and did require surgery). As a result, Whare should only be out for “up to” four weeks.
His replacement will be named this afternoon.
