If the Warriors’ inability to beat a Matt Moylan-less Panthers side wasn’t enough to make their fanbase lose their lunch, a possible long-term absence to star halfback Shaun Johnson will probably do it.
Johnson left the field with 18 minutes remaining, and according to the New Zealand Herald, there are fears that the Kiwi Test half may have injured his ACL.
If that prognosis proves accurate, he’ll face season-ending surgery, and also miss the Rugby League World Cup.
Warriors coach Stephen Kearney said that Johnson would have scans “over the next 24 hours”, but that the early prognosis “is probably not a real good one”.
We sincerely hope it’s not as bad as first thought.
