It. Is. Over.
The most dramatic signing story of the last few months is finally resolved, with the Knights today officially announcing the recruitment of Roosters utility Connor Watson for 2018.
Watson will join the club on a three-year deal, which will see him in the Hunter until the end of 2020.
The Watson pursuit was fascinating, with him first reported to be joining the Knights, before the Tigers weighed in with a big offer, then Watson considered remaining at the Roosters. Ultimately, Watson will be heading to Newcastle after all.
Watson is expected to play five-eighth at the Knights, where he’ll join fellow recruit, Cowboys fullback Kalyn Ponga in a new-look spine.
Watson has played 31 first grade matches for the Roosters since making his debut for the club last year.
