It was rumoured over a month ago that the Storm were considering offering a homecoming for Warriors (and former-Storm) second-rower Ryan Hoffman. That appears to have been accurate, with the Storm having reportedly offered a one-year deal for him to finish his career in Melbourne. However, it’s no certainty he’s going to accept it.
According to Fox Sports, Hoffman has also fielded offers from multiple Super League clubs, including Catalans Dragons.
The report doesn’t give details on the length or value of those offers, and if they’re no better than what the Storm are offering, you’d still expect a Melbourne return to be the most likely outcome.
However, if he can get a longer (assuming he wants to continue playing) or richer (assuming he likes money) deal in the Super League, he may have a decision to make.
Hoffman has played 301 first grade games for the Warriors and Storm, 14 Origins for New South Wales, and 6 Tests for Australia.
