It’s official – Raiders forward Sia Soliola has knocked Billy Slater into next week.
According to AAP, the Storm fullback has tweeted an update that he’s feeling better, and expecting to return in time for the Storm’s visit to Townsville.
“Feeling ok after the weekend,” Slater said. “Not playing this week as a precaution, but will be back next week. Thanks for the messages.”
The news will come as a huge relief to all rugby league fans, after the distressing sight of Slater laying on the GIO Stadium turf for what felt like an eternity.
Indeed, according to a Melbourne medical report, Slater was so badly concussed that he couldn’t remember State of Origin 3 (Laurie Daley must be green with envy).
So it’s quite a relief to hear that Slater’s doing well, and hopefully set to make a quick recovery.
