There’s been surprisingly little talk about off-contract Rabbitohs utility John Sutton, but we’ve finally heard something, with Fox Sports reporter Nathan Ryan writing that Sutton is expected to stay on at South Sydney.
Writing on his Market Watch blog, Ryan wrote that Sutton is “expected to re-sign, with the premiership-winner to remain a one-club man”.
With there having been so little news on the future of the 32-year-old, it had been largely expected that he’d stay on, on the assumption that the Rabbitohs are interested in offering him a deal.
It sounds as though that deal will eventually be forthcoming, and Sutton will be provided with the opportunity to retire a Rabbitoh, as he should.
Sutton has played 277 first grade games for the Rabbitohs since his debut in 2004.
