It’s a long way from over the line, but the Storm have confirmed the multiple media reports from recent months linking the club with off-contract Warriors second-rower Ryan Hoffman, with Storm football director Frank Ponissi admitting that they’ve “had conversations”.
In a News Limited report, Ponissi has confirmed the Storm’s interest in Hoffman, declaring it would be “great to get him back”.
“Without giving away too much, we’ve certainly had conversations with Ryan about finishing his career here, and that is a possibility,” said Ponissi.
“It’s still very… early days, he has got a couple of other options that he’s considering, but it would be great to get him back.”
Hoffman was first linked to a Storm homecoming back in June, with those reports gathering steam in recent weeks.
With Ponissi now confirming that they’ve made contact, it feels like just a matter of time before Hoffman winds up back where he belongs.
Hoffman has played 301 NRL matches for the Warriors and Storm, 14 Origins for New South Wales, and 6 Tests for Australia.
