As was reported a fortnight ago, Roosters winger Blake Ferguson has indeed re-signed with the tri-colours, with Ferguson himself telling reporters today that he’s “already signed it”.
According to Fox Sports, the deal is for a further 12 months, keeping him at Bondi until the end of 2018.
“I’ve already signed it, so I’m ready to go next year,” Ferguson said. “Pretty happy with it.”
“I just needed to get the finer details done, and I finally got it done in the last couple of weeks.”
The Roosters had reportedly offered Ferguson a two-year deal initially, before downgrading their offer to 12 months, following a run of bad press after the Origin series.
It’s somewhat concerning for Ferguson’s value that no other clubs seemed to beating his door down with long-term offers, but regardless, his immediate future is now sorted, and he’ll hopefully be able to get back to playing good footy, and his value will take care of itself.
Ferguson has played 159 matches for the Roosters, Raiders and Sharks, 7 Origins for New South Wales, and 7 Tests for Australia.
