Some three months after the Warriors were last linked to Bulldogs forward James Graham, comes a report that they’re once again interested in making a play for the Canterbury skipper.
According to SMH, the Warriors are after either Graham or Sharks five-eighth James Maloney “as their marquee buy“.
With Maloney still tied to the Sharks until they can find a suitable replacement, and the Bulldogs reported as needing to shed salary in order to fit in new arrivals Aaron Woods and Kieran Foran; Graham would appear to be the most likely target at this time.
The Warriors are known to be on the hunt to bolster their forwards, and have also been linked to a big-money play for Broncos prop Adam Blair. Should they be unsuccessful in their bid to lure Blair, you’d have to assume their interest in Graham will only increase.
The report mentions the building of a winning culture as a motivation for signing Graham. It’s a sad state of affairs in New Zealand when the team coming 4th last (and who have won just 3 games in the past 4 months) is considered to have “winning culture”.
