If the Bulldogs do wind up being forced to release contracted players, they’ll have no trouble finding suitors for skipper James Graham. The Warriors were once again linked to him on Sunday, and now it sounds like the Knights interest hasn’t gone completely cold, either.
Speaking on Fox Sports’ NRL 360, Knights coach Nathan Brown has discussed the club’s interest in finding a forward leader like Graham.
“We looked at James Graham earlier in the year, and James Graham was not that interested in leaving Canterbury when we spoke to him,” Brown said.
“They might be in the situation where they have to (offload players). He’s certainly a player that offers some of the things we just spoke about.”
The Bulldogs will push for a $9.6 million dollar salary cap at a meeting with the NRL on Thursday, but if that’s unsuccessful, then it appears inevitable that players are going to have to be moved on.
If that happens, at the moment Graham appears to be the only player with clubs lining up for his services.
