While Storm fullback Billy Slater has yet to commit to playing on next year, there’s reportedly a contract waiting for him in Melbourne when he’s ready.
According to The Australian, the Storm have tabled a 12-month extension to Slater. Slater’s manager George Mimis is scheduled to meet with Storm CEO Dave Donaghy Thursday, at which point Slater’s future is sure to be the focus of conversation.
Slater has been arguably the best fullback in rugby league this year, and keeping him around for another year would help ensure a smooth transition from the Big 3 to the Storm’s next generation.
Slater has played 293 first grade matches for the Storm, 29 Origins for Queensland, and 25 Tests for Australia.
