When you’re looking at signing Newcastle discards, it’s probably not a good sign for your first grade squad, but in this particular case, we think it’s an exception.
According to Fox Sports, the Titans are considering making a play for unwanted Knights utility back Brendan Elliot.
Elliot is without a club for 2018, after the Knights chose not to offer him a new deal; which was somewhat surprising, given that Elliot offers relatively inexpensive but versatile first grade-quality depth, in a squad that doesn’t have a lot of it.
The Titans reportedly still have six more spots available in their Top 30 for next year, and after their well-documented injury woes in 2017, they no doubt appreciate the value of capable depth.
Elliot has played 37 first grade games for the Knights and Roosters.
