We don’t know where forward Sam Tagataese will be playing in 2018, but it apparently won’t be at Cronulla.
According to Fox Sports, the veteran Sharks prop hasn’t been offered a new deal by the club, but has interest from two unnamed NRL clubs.
“Nothing has been confirmed yet,” Tagataese said. “My focus is to stay here in the NRL and I’ll probably go overseas for a couple of years in the future.”
It’s understandable that the Sharks would be looking to rejuvenate an aging roster, but cheap, veteran forwards are still valuable around the league. We’d be surprised if Tagataese doesn’t find a new home shortly.
Tagataese has played 168 first grade games for the Sharks, Titans and Storm, and 3 Tests for Samoa.
