It remains to be seen who the Bulldogs actually pursue to be their next head coach, but if they want Dean Pay – as has long been speculated – they’ll have to act quickly.
Speaking on NRL 360, The Daily Telegraph’s Paul Crawley has suggested that Pay could be appointed the new head coach of Warrington as soon as next week.
“Next week, more than likely, will be too late for Dean Pay,” Crawley said.
Crawley’s colleague, Paul Kent added, “I agree, I think it’ll be too late for Dean Pay, he’ll probably have the Warrington offer in his pocket by then.”
It was reported last week that Pay would likely accept the Warrington job if he were offered it, potentially pitting the English club in a race with the Bulldogs to get an offer in to the Raiders assistant.
So if Pay is to be the next coach of the Bulldogs, we can expect to find out soon.
