It’ll be the beginning of a new era for the Knights in 2018: new ownership; a new roster; and now, a new CEO.
Knights CEO Matt Gidley has today announced his resignation from the position. He’ll formally step down on November 1.
Gidley was a surprise appointment to the position in 2011, under the ownership of Nathan Tinkler. During his reign, Gidley oversaw the construction of a roster so poor, that they this year finished last for the third consecutive year, the first time a team has achieved that feat since the 91-93 Gold Coast Seagulls.
Hopefully, new management will bring better results.
