With many of their long-term stars coming towards the end of their careers, the Storm have been proactive lately in locking up their next generation of stars.
The next on the list appears to be second-rower Felise Kaufusi, who is close to signing a new deal, according to Brent Read on Triple M.
Kaufusi was a revelation on the edge a season go, capping off the year with selection for Australia in the Rugby League World Cup.
His may not be the only re-signing on the way for the Storm either, with Reid also reporting that coach Craig Bellamy is expected to sign an extension as well.
The hold up for Bellamy’s deal is a split from his management company, however Reid reports that he expects Bellamy to re-sign “reasonably soon”.
Kaufusi has played 65 first grade games for the Storm, 3 Tests for Tonga, and 2 Tests for Australia.
