If the Knights are going to take the next step from competitive team to legitimate contenders, they still need to add a couple of high-impact (and preferably younger) forwards.
According to the Newcastle Herald, they have their eye on one in particular. Knights coach Nathan Brown has reportedly confirmed the club’s interest in recruiting Newcastle junior Tevita Pangai Jr.
Pangai Jr had been identified as a potential Blues representative after his explosive start to the year, before announcing this week that he’d pledged his loyalty to Tonga.
Despite winning both their opening matches, the Knights were significantly outgained in both outings. A stud like Pangai Jr would go a long way to fixing that problem.
Pangai Jr has played 34 first grade games for the Broncos, and 3 Tests for Tonga.
