The Eels aren’t yet ready to give up on their 2018 season, with the club reportedly looking to add some heavy artillery – with ‘heavy’ being the operative word.
According to Channel 7 reporter Josh Massoud on twitter, the Eels have made an offer to giant Raiders prop Junior Paulo, and “they would love to have him… before June 30″.
Paulo would give the Eels’ struggling forward pack a massive boost, and could relieve some salary cap pressure from the Raiders (which they’ll need, if they intend to keep off-contract star Josh Papalii). That said, it’s unknown at this point whether or not the Raiders would even consider an early release for one of their top forwards.
Paulo has played 94 first grade games for the Raiders and Eels, and 7 Tests for Samoa.
