The rumour mill continues to churn around the Knights and Raiders, with the latest involving both clubs.
According to The Canberra Times, the Knights have been linked to Raiders forward Iosia Soliola, in addition to their interest in his teammate, Shannon Boyd.
It was reported earlier in the week that the Raiders had opened negotiations with Soliola about an extension, and it’s unclear how far those negotiations had progressed before the Knights expressed their interest.
For their part, the Raiders aren’t sitting around twiddling their thumbs either, with the same report stating that they’ve tabled an offer to English forward Ryan Sutton (who’d previously been linked to the Eels).
The Raiders have their hands full retaining their current forward pack, with big names Boyd, Josh Papalii, and Junior Paulo all recently linked to big money offers from rival clubs.
After years of boasting one of the biggest packs in the league, it’s looking increasingly like their 2019 pack could look very different.
As for the Knights, their continued association with every decent forward on the market demonstrates a commitment on their part to improve on their biggest weakness – their mediocre forward pack.
