Despite going through a bit of a rough trot lately, the Knights’ management isn’t losing any faith in head coach Nathan Brown. Indeed, they’re actually about to extend him.
That’s according to a report in the Newcastle Herald, stating that a new “indefinite” deal for Brown is set to be rubber-stamped by the Wests Group board today (Thursday).
The deal won’t have any set ‘end date’, and will instead continue on as long as certain performance triggers are met.
What those specific performance triggers are remains to be seen, but after suffering through some lean years with a few embarrassingly weak squads, we’re pleased to see Brown will be given every opportunity to succeed with a team that’s actually capable of competing.
Brown has coached 211 NRL matches for the Knights and Dragons, with a career winning percentage of 43.1%.
