Apparently always on the look-out for high-end talent at bargain basement prices, the Knights are reportedly being linked to out-of-favour Eels playmaker Corey Norman.
According to WWOS reporter The Mole, the Knights are making “a sneaky bid” for Norman, who’s not expected to return to Parramatta next season.
He’s also been linked to a return to the Broncos, and social media has suggested the possibility of a Norman-Martin Taupau swap with the Sea Eagles, however this is the first we’ve heard of interest from the Knights.
Where exactly he’d fit in the Knights’ stacked backline remains to be seen (presumably he’d go to five-eighth, shifting Connor Watson to a utility role), but if Newcastle are successful, they may well have one of the most exciting rosters of 2019.
Norman has played 161 first grade games for the Eels and Broncos.
