We already knew that the Titans have offered halfback Ash Taylor a rich, new deal. Now we know they’ve also given him a deadline.
According to Fox Sports, the Titans have given Taylor until November 1 to accept their three-year offer, or he’ll risk having the offer withdrawn.
The reason for wanting him signed before that date is obvious – it’s the date from which he can be signed by rival clubs. However, the decision to set him a deadline is at least somewhat surprising.
Earlier in the year, the Tigers attempted a similar approach with off-contract stars Aaron Woods and James Tedesco.
It didn’t go well.
Hopefully for the Titans, Taylor is more receptive to this kind of move.
