If there’s one thing the Bulldogs love as much as gritty, defensive football, it’s discussing the future of their coach, Des Hasler.
According to a Fox Sports report, the Canterbury board are set to do it all again on Tuesday, with Hasler expected to appear at a board meeting to discuss his future.
The report is somewhat hazy on the details: the meeting was either planned eight months ago or specially convened; Hasler is either attending to face uncertainty about his future, or has been booked in for four weeks to make a presentation (and if so, will that presentation would be of the PowerPoint variety, or will he be giving somebody a certificate? So many questions!).
It’s worth noting that over a fortnight ago, it was reported that the Bulldogs would consider terminating Hasler if they failed to qualify for the finals.
Nonetheless, in the current rugby league climate, the mere fact that there’s going to be a board meeting tomorrow and Hasler will be in attendance will stoke the flames for another 24 hours at least.
