Apparently not content with both Valentine Holmes and Josh Dugan on their roster next year, the Sharks have reportedly set their sights on Bulldogs winger Brett Morris – to play fullback.
According to WWOS reporter The Mole, the Sharks have commenced informal negotiations with Morris, with a view to making him the side’s next custodian.
Many had assumed that with James Graham headed to the Dragons, that the Bulldogs’ salary cap problem was solved. However according to the report, the Bulldogs may need to move on another player in order to become cap compliant, and that player may be Morris.
We’re not sure what’s more surprising about this report – the suggestion that the Bulldogs still need to move on more players, or the idea that the Sharks aren’t satisfied that either Holmes or Dugan would be a satisfactory fullback.
If nothing else, it’s an interesting story.
