The Tigers didn’t seem particularly keen to keep to outside back Kevin Naiqama around next year, but then again, neither did anybody else. As a result, the two parties have come together and worked out a deal to bring him back in 2018.
The Tigers have announced that they’ve re-signed Naiqama to a one-year extension, keeping him at Concord until the end of next year.
Naiqama likely could have earned substantially more had he opted to head to England, however he apparently wasn’t interested in a move, and will instead provide serviceable outside back depth for Wests, where he’ll be fighting with new arrivals Mahe Fonua and Corey Thompson for time in the top grade.
Naiqama has played 92 first grade games for the Tigers, Panthers and Knights, and 7 Tests for Fiji.
