The Sea Eagles’ salary cap woes continue to bite, with the club unable to match a richer offer for back-rower Shaun Lane.
As a result, Lane is set to head to Parramatta, according to WWOS reporter The Mole. Lane has reportedly agreed to terms with the Eels for 2019, further weakening the Sea Eagles’ already weak forward pack.
At this point, it’s unknown whether or not the Eels will pursue an early release for Lane, however it would probably be mutually beneficial if they did; as it would allow Manly to bring actual hooker Manase Fainu up into their top 30.
Lane has played 39 first grade games for the Sea Eagles, Warriors and Bulldogs.
