Panthers fans clinging to the hope of an unlikely roster exemption for captain Matt Moylan have had those hopes dashed, with coach Anthony Griffin today confirming that Moylan won’t make the trip to Brisbane.
According to AAP, Griffin has told reporters that Moylan will remain on “counselling leave” for the time being, but denied speculation linking his captain to Manly.
“I can’t see why not,” Griffin said, when asked if Moylan will remain with the Panthers next year. “I’ve said all along, I’ve never had an issue with Matt.”
“He’s on some counselling leave.”
So that settles it. (Until tomorrow, when Moylan will inevitably be linked somewhere else.)
