First, it was Mitch Rein, Michael Lichaa and Slade Griffin. Then, the Knights narrowed their hooker search down to two. Now, it appears that the Knights have settled on their preferred option – and it’s the understudy to Cameron Smith.
According to Newcastle Sunday, via Nothing But Knights, the Knights will this week begin formal negotiations with Griffin, after identifying him as the man to pair with Danny Levi as the club’s primary hooking options.
The report notes that they’ve now dropped off Rein and Lichaa, and quotes an unnamed Knights source as saying Griffin is “the preferred option at this stage”.
Griffin has played 21 first grade games for the Storm since his debut in 2013.
