UPDATE 30/3 @4:11pm: The Knights have confirmed the re-signing of King on a new two-year deal.
He’s been stuck behind a selection of veteran imports this year, but the Knights clearly still have long term plans for Josh King, with the club reportedly close to inking him to a two-year extension.
According to the Newcastle Herald, a deal could be done as soon as this weekend for the young forward who’s spent the early part of the year in NSW Cup.
With senior forwards Jacob Lillyman and Chris Heighington both on the wrong side of 30, succession planning remains important, especially with the two veterans off contract at season’s end.
King has played 27 first grade games for the Knights since making his debut in 2016.
