The mystery surrounding the absence of Panthers skipper Matt Moylan will no doubt be revealed in due course, but for the time being, it seems as though each day brings with it a new story, and a different version of events.
The latest, according to 7Sport, is that Moylan would prefer to join the Sea Eagles in the event that he eventually parts ways with Penrith.
According to the report, Moylan’s relationship with coach Trent Barrett and desire to live close to the beach are both factors in Manly’s favour.
It’s also suggested that Moylan is unimpressed with his absence being represented as a mental issue (if it’s not to do with his mental state, he’d be perfectly entitled to feel aggrieved; although we’re inclined to also think that if that were the case, he’d have already quit).
Without knowing the full story, it’s hard to separate fact from fiction. In the meantime, the Panthers have a game to win.
