Tetevano downgraded, Lussick gets off

September 5, 2017, 9:32 pm By Joel Leave a Comment

The NRL judiciary were apparently in a receptive mood tonight, with both players appearing receiving positive results.

The NRL have announced that Roosters forward Zane Tetevano has successfully had his charge downgraded, and will be suspended for just one match.

Even more fortunate was Sea Eagles forward Darcy Lussick, who was somehow found guilty for a blatant trip, and is free to play on the weekend.

Tetevano, Lussick both fighting charges

September 4, 2017, 2:06 pm By Joel Leave a Comment

Roosters prop Zane Tetevano and Sea Eagles forward Darcy Lussick are both opting to head to the judiciary and fight their respective charges.

Tetevano has entered a guilty plea, but will dispute the nature of his offense. He was facing a three-game ban, which could potentially rule him out of the Roosters’ entire finals campaign.

Lussick has pleaded not guilty to a tripping charge. That offense typically is punished with a fine, however he’s facing a one-week suspension because he’s a repeat offender.

The Weekend Wrap: 3/9/17

September 3, 2017, 11:03 pm By Joel Leave a Comment

Broncos fullback Darius Boyd will miss his side’s qualifying final against the Roosters, after Fox Sports’ James Hooper announced that he’s officially been ruled out, and is expected to be replaced by Kodi Nikorima.

The Roosters could be without forward Zane Tetevano for the entire finals series, with the young firebrand facing a 3-game suspension for a high shot on Ben Nakubuwai.

Sea Eagles forward Darcy Lussick appears set to miss his side’s elimination final against the Panthers, after being charged with a trip on Peter Wallace.

Panthers CEO Brian Fletcher only added to the growing Matt Moylan drama, when he described the fullback as being a “50-50” chance of staying at Penrith next year.

Bulldogs forward James Graham looks to have played his last match for the club in their win over the Dragons, with the Englishman believed to be close to finalising a three-year deal to join St George-Illawarra.

Rival coaches have declared the Storm the team to beat in this years finals series (in other news, grass is green; water is wet).

It’s believed that Rabbitohs coach Michael Maguire will head to Warrington next season, and be replaced at South Sydney by assistant Anthony Seibold.

Tetevano expected to re-sign

May 22, 2017, 8:51 am By Joel Leave a Comment

The Roosters are building nicely for 2018, and are reportedly set to bolster their forward pack with a key re-signing.

According to Fox Sports, the Roosters are keen to extend the contract of forward Zane Tetevano, who’s current deal expires at season’s end.

The report states that he “has signed on for 2017 but is set to start talks for an upgrade and extension”. Given that Round 11 just concluded, at this point we’re all quite aware that Tetevano is signed on for 2017, but no doubt there’s someone out there who appreciates the clarity.

Tetevano has made 38 appearances for the Roosters and Knights, and played 2 Tests for the Cook Islands.

He’s #79 on The Obstruction Rule’s Free Agent Top 100.
