The brutal State of Origin clash is likely to take its toll on the weekend’s NRL games, with a host of stars in doubt.
According to Fox Sports, Broncos five-eighth Anthony Milford and Roosters halfback Mitchell Pearce will both miss the Sydney/Brisbane clash, after picking up head knocks on Wednesday night. Milford is likely to be replaced once again by Benji Marshall, while Connor Watson is expected to deputise for Pearce.
Titans hooker Nathan Peats is expected to miss his side’s clash with the Cowboys due to a corked thigh. It’s suggested that he could be replaced by Karl Lawton.
Storm hooker Cameron Smith is in some doubt after pulling up the worst of the Storm’s Origin contingent, but Fox are suggesting he’s likely to play.
