Dragons winger Jason Nightingale has filled in capably at fullback this year in the absence of Josh Dugan, and with Dugan heading to the Sharks next season, he may be required to shoulder that load once again.
To that end, the Dragons have re-signed Nightingale to a one-year extension, according to Daily Telegraph reporter Matt Logue. Logue says that the extension has been confirmed by Nightingale’s management.
Nightingale is one of the most reliable wingers in the NRL, and his ability to cover fullback as well makes him a valuable veteran presence to any side, similar to the Roosters’ Michael Gordon (who co-incidentally had his re-signing announced today).
Nightingale has made 241 appearances for the Dragons, and played 31 Tests for New Zealand.
He’s #32 on The Obstruction Rule’s Free Agent Top 100.
